The student scientific conference of the DGC researchers will take place on Friday, February 17 at 9:00 in the UO auditorium at Českobratrská 16 street.

Come, watch and support our Ph.D. students during their presentation of thirteen scientific grants that were implemented within the project called “Internal grant competition for doctoral students at the University of Ostrava”. The conference is one of the important outputs of the internal grants in the UO and the successful applicants from among the UO Ph.D. students had 18 months for their implementation.

You can look forward to a presentation by Eva Bílková, winner of the Czech science slam dubbed “Český vševěd”, on dragonfly biology, a presentation by Marcello Turi and Dhwani Radhakrishnan on the pathology of multiple myeloma or a presentation by Lukáš Slovák on volleyball spike kinematics.

Each researcher will have ten minutes to present their study in English and five minutes for discussion. “The projects are already in their final stages, so the presenters will be able to describe the entire course of the grant and will have applicable conclusions,” says Ivana Slípková on the behalf of the organizers and adds that during the conference, the audience will be able to evaluate the most interesting presentation in an informal competition. The winner will then be awarded at the end of the conference.

Individual and team grants of the Doctoral Grant Competition (DGC) help develop the competences and abilities of postgraduate students in the process of obtaining and successfully solving grant projects, project management and language competencies, and to improve the quality of preparation for scientific activity.
