In spring 2018 I was nominated to Erasmus+ Exchange study stay at the University of Ostrava. The date of my first visit to Czech Republic was September 17th, 2018. The host university prepared a warm welcome and during the first orientation week we have learnt everything what is necessary for study and living in a new environment. I could experience on my own eyes the reality of the real European educational system and difference from the one in Russia. I highly appreciate the open approach of academics to students, their commitment to give them the best knowledge, involve students into learning process and enable them to become part of the university.
Student buddy together with coordinator are ready to answer all questions and help to solve each situation through the whole period of study. I am also grateful for a chance to meet students from Austria and Germany during the International Project Management course, the aim of which is to propose a contributing social project for the chosen social institution but also learn to cooperate with other members of the international group, exchange knowledge about social work systems in different countries and make new friends.
I was also amazed by a beautiful newly reconstructed white building of the Faculty of Social Studies reminding me almost of palace. The lecture rooms are equipped with latest technical conveniences and create a student-friendly environment. The time-table of courses gives enough space for study, visits to social organizations and last but not least for travelling around Europe. In my opinion this is the biggest opportunity in European higher educational system and I am honestly thankful for the Erasmus + programme and experience at the University of Ostrava, for knowledge, emotions and impressions, for new people that I met and high quality education and engagement of all staff.
Thanks to all who have contributed to make my stay in Ostrava better and comfortable. I promise to come again some day.
