The principle is simple. Participants register using a short form, and every working day they receive a short physical activity by email. The exercises are designed to be completed within just a few minutes, right in the office, without the need to change clothes or use any special equipment.
The Exercise with the Faculty of Education initiative is organised by the PR Department in cooperation with the DigiWELL project team. “When communicating with Faculty employees, we felt that an activity like this could be a welcome addition to the working day, while also offering a simple way to support their health and wellbeing,” explains Tereza Čapandová, Head of the PR Department at the Faculty of Education, University of Ostrava. “That is why we are pleased that we have been able to connect this need with the DigiWELL project,” she adds.
Would you like to add a little more movement to your working day? Join the Exercise with the Faculty of Education initiative. Once you register, you will receive a short “movement snack” by email every working day – an activity that takes just a few minutes and can be done right at your desk. No changing clothes and no special equipment required. Register here.
Exercise with the Faculty of Education is not intended to replace sport or regular exercise. Its main aim is to remind us that even during the working day, it is possible to break up long periods of sitting from time to time and devote a few minutes to moving our bodies. “We were thinking about how to make the DigiWELL project, which deals with a number of scientific concepts and complex topics, more accessible to university employees,” says Milan Cabala, Project Manager of DigiWELL. “This is a way of doing that which is easy to understand, practical and can naturally become part of employees’ everyday routines,” he adds.
Employees of the Faculty of Education as well as other parts of the University can join the Exercise with the Faculty of Education initiative by completing a short registration form. After that, all they need to do is open their email, push their chair back for a few minutes and, instead of another cup of coffee, enjoy a small movement snack.
